Méthode Cab Nouveau — REVIEWS

" A Tasty Success "

The most adventurous Cabernet expression. Here winemaker Luke Tocaciu seeks a much lighter style than the traditional Coonawarra way with the variety, with just two days on skins to extract colour and a bare modicum of tannin. If you think that might simply result in a next level rose style, you’d be wrong. The colour is medium density garnet and the aromatics are definitely all about Cabernet berry and cassis, with palate flavours reverbing all that in a juicy expression with some black pepper offset for further interest. Importantly, there’s a much gentler grip than usual with the variety, enabling more immediate drinking. A tasty success.

" Absolutely yummy "

This really deserves the nouveau tag, but better yet, it avoids the pitfalls of nouveau-ness, it is novel, proper, red wine and absolutely yummy.

MAX CRUS — GRAPE EXPECTATIONS

" Dangerously Delicious "

Minimal skin contact and made to showcase the versatility of the variety, the innovation shown from Coonawarra producers in recent years demands attention. Winemaker Luke Tocaciu is stretching the interpretations of a couple of varieties, and damn, this is a dangerously delicious Cabernet drink. Red berries, blackcurrants and juniper flood the mosh pit and dance to the beat. Bright and light, fennel and dried herbs chime in as do some earthiness and minty characters. Energetic acidity closes out a wine that will take a chill in warmer months. A Cabernet shooting high on the smashable spectrum. Drink now to three years.

" Taste as good as they look "

With a lighter hue than one might expect from a Cab Sav, accompanied by fresh, fruity flavours. Your tastebuds will enjoy the crisp flavours that are so beautifully balanced - you really must get your hands on one of these before they run out!

" A fun wine, something different "

A fun wine, something different and a little left of centre. Treat it like a Rosé, whack it in the fridge, and enjoy 👌🏽🍷

Sits somewhere between a very full bodied rosé and a Gamay weighted Cabernet Sauvignon and really highlights the versatility of the variety 👏🏼🍷

" Yum. "

The nose makes me think of dark choc cherry ripe. Yum. The palate is soft, juicy, and slips down easy. One to enjoy young but is certainly no chore.
